A Mission Close to Our Hearts

For people facing a terminal diagnosis (and the people who love them) the news is devastating.

What if there was a way to capture those last moments of someone with a terminal illness, and create a final legacy to pass on to the people they love?

I often talk about how photos can help us cope with loss and serve as reminders of who we are and what’s important to us. At Picture This Organized, we are proud of the work we do and how we help our clients and their families preserve their family legacies.

In addition to serving our own clients, Picture This Organized also wants to leave a legacy through our support of organizations that share our mission. Love Not Lost is one such organization.

Love Not Lost photographs people facing a terminal diagnosis, and helps families preserve memories by providing free portrait sessions and heirloom albums.

The purpose of Love Not Lost really struck a chord with me because their organization helps people who are going through a very difficult time to keep the memories of their loved ones close to their hearts.

How Love Not Lost Got Started

Love Not Lost has a unique and heart wrenching origin that starts with founder Ashley Jones’s personal story.

Ashley’s daughter Skylar was diagnosed with a terminal illness when she was only two months old. A friend of the family took professional photos of Ashley’s family that helped them honor the memory of their daughter and contributed to their healing process.

Ashley wanted to do the same for others. She says:

“It is truly an honor to come alongside of people who know their time is short to capture and preserve their memories for those who love them. I can’t think of anything else in life for which I am more qualified and have a passion for more than this, which is why I created Love Not Lost. Death stings, but it’s only because there is great love, and that love is never lost! Everyone deserves to be remembered.”

Love Not Lost’s website features many stories of those touched by the extraordinary kindness of this organization.

How We Are Helping This Love Not Lost

I have personally supported family and friends as they faced loss. I always had the urge to do something to assist, but I often felt completely helpless.

While I can’t change the outcome of these difficult situations, I can be part of the healing process. When I met Ashley and learned about Love Not Lost, I knew I wanted my business to be a part of what they do.

Here is how Picture This Organized is helping Love Not Lost:

  • For every album we design and sell to our clients, 20% of the proceeds will go to support Love Not Lost and their mission.
  • All the money we raise will help directly cover the costs of the photography sessions, albums, and educational programs Love Not Lost offers.

We don’t know what the future will hold – but there will always things we can do to help out and lighten the load for other people.

I’m grateful that Picture This Organized is able to make a small difference to provide a lasting memory for those facing a difficult time.

Thank you for supporting my business, which in turn, allows us to help others. If you would like to learn more about Love Not Lost and discover more ways you can be support their mission, visit their Ways to Help page.
